Luis A. Mateos

Bio. Luis is a roboticist at - Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he is developing ROBOAT - autonomous robotic boats able to self-assembly, perform multi-robot formations, monitor the environment and transport persons and goods. Previously, he was developing an industrial exoskeleton "Robomate" to assist workers in automobile factories for carrying heavy weights, with the aim of preventing back injuries. In his PhD project DeWaLop, he developed a robotic solution to inspect and repair the old water pipes in the cities of Vienna and Bratislava to improve the situation of fresh water leakage. For this achievement he was awarded the 2014 OVE prize by Austrian Government. Luis got his master degree in computer vision and robotics (ViBot) with full fund by European Union.
